This class is designed for writers of all genres who want to hone their editing skills and find musicality in their work. By reading excerpts of our writing aloud, we'll develop a set of techniques for both developmental and line edits. Along with in-class exercises, students are asked to bring a nearly-complete piece and will leave with a clear plan for polishing it into a final draft.
One, three-hour session, Saturday August 10th at 10 am PT/1 pm ET.
Cost: $102. More info and registration here.
Students say…
“[I] enjoyed a new perspective around editing, hearing my words aloud, word sounds to watch for to create that musicality.”
“I thought the instructor-provided readings were great choices, and I also loved the opportunity to speak on my peers' works. I am grateful to have learned various methods of reading work aloud…[and] learned that reading aloud can be used at many stages in the drafting and editing process, instead of just saving it for a final proofreading stage.”
