A course designed for writers new to submissions who want to familiarize themselves with the process while learning from, and sharing experiences with, their peers. By breaking down the phases into actionable steps, we'll help writers hone their submission skills and explore the emotional aspects of the process, such as healthy striving and recovering from rejection.
This course will cover:
How to know when a piece is ready to submit.
How to find a home for your work amidst the vast internet.
How to write a (non-self-depreciating) cover letter.
Setting a realistic financial and emotional budget.
Developing a consistent submissions practice and how to define your writing success beyond your publication list.
This course will not cover:
Querying and seeking literary representation for a longer manuscript.
Writing pitches and pitching editors for non-fiction pieces.
How to 100% guarantee publication – that’s not possible!
