Submissions Support Group

  • This course is for writers who want accountability, support, and a structured space to navigate the submissions process. Whether you’re new to submitting or struggling with consistency, you’ll get the tools and confidence to put your work out into the world.

We’ll start by honing your submission skills—crafting cover letters, finding literary magazines, and managing expectations—and exploring the emotional side of publishing, from healthy striving to bouncing back from rejection. Then, we'll have one hour of actively sending work out before regrouping for questions and next steps.

Designed for writers of all genres with publication-ready work. This class focuses on submitting to literary magazines and independent presses rather than seeking literary representation. If you’re tired of letting your work sit in a folder, this is your chance to take action.

Expect to leave with work submitted, a clear plan for continuing to submit your work, a deeper understanding of the process, and the confidence to keep sending your work out—year after year.

    What to expect:

    • Craft Discussion: teachers and students explore essential elements of the craft.

    • Optional writing or reading outside of class

  • Three, two-hour sessions, Mondays April 28, May 19 & June 23.

    • 8 – 10 pm ET, 5 – 7 pm PT

  • Cost: $230. More info and registration here.

    Students say…

“Grace is a very gentle but honest teacher; I appreciate how her end goal is for us to be excited to keep writing AND get better, and she wants the feedback we give to accomplish that.”

“I have not submitted any work for publication yet and this was immensely helpful in defining the process as well as offering resources for submission,”
